Founded in 2009, the University of Mississippi Hillel is UM's Jewish student organization. The UM Hillel offers Jewish social, cultural, and religious experiences for the UM student community. Hillel members include a wide range of students: undergraduate and graduate students, students from many different parts of the United States and the world, as well as students of different Jewish religious traditions, as well as their non-Jewish friends and allies. With the Jewish Federation of Oxford, we sponsor high holiday services at the Paris Yates chapel as well as a number of annual events in Oxford, such as Bubbe's Table, a gourmet Chanukah dinner every December, and a community Passover seder in the spring. On campus, our Hillel sponsors speakers and cultural awareness events, from Jewish comedians to apples & honey at the student union. We also love to go out to dinner and have fun off campus.
